Gloria Mottini Experience - Cook like an Ancient Tuscan is a family culinary experience that allow you to plunge yourself in the Ancient Tuscan food, atmosphere and flavours, handled since 2016 by Gloria and her family.
Once upon a time a girl named Gloria was born in Fiesole, the village on a hilltop overlooking Florence, Italy. She grew up in a family with extravagant culinary influences! Mom's family from Sicily but having spent many years in Africa, dad's family from Northern Italy and from Rome, a grandma pastry, a grandpa inventor in the kitchen and then Gloria, passionate about cooking since childhood!
So one day she decided to share her family home, culinary knowledge, ancient local recipes, legends and traditions with curious travellers from all around the world!
Her hometown is full of history because it is an ancient Etruscan village, so living this experience means discovering the deep roots go Tuscan cuisine, learning how to prepare an entire ancient Tuscan meal starting from scratch and using only your hands in a family, relaxing and fairy atmosphere. The recipes are 2,800 years old and it’s not only about cooking but also discovering the legends, symbols and food habits of an ancient and mysterious civilisation!

I welcome you to a half day, hands on cooking class where we will create a beautiful Italian meal in the hart of Tuscany! In my house or yours. Our delicious menu will consist of 4 courses, with plenty of red wine. The menu is subject to change with the seasons and what is fresh daily. An EXAMPLE of what we will cook is an Antipasto platter, handmade pici pasta with a Tuscan ragu, Sliced Chianina beef with fresh green & red pepper corns, arugula, tomatoes, & parmesan shavings & Panna cotta with a mixed berry sauce!! Plus Italian coffee and some of my very own Lemoncello!! You will receive an apron (you can keep), recipes, and all the knowledge needed to recreate what you learned, when you get back home!! All dietary needs are welcome!
I have been doing cooking classes for 9 years now. Classes are from 2-12 people, lunch or dinner, around 3.5 hours long plus how long it takes to sit and enjoy the meal.

What makes this Italian course in Notting Hill so unique is that before the cooking it's the shopping. You will meet at Portobello Road market, which is a vibrant and bustling melange of stalls selling food produce from all over the world. Charlotte and Claire will show you how to select the best quality ingredients in order to create dishes together, taking inspiration from what is fresh and seasonal at the market that day.
Laden down with bags bursting with fresh produce and herbs, it's time to head back to their bright and airy Notting Hill abode. As you gather round in their homely kitchen, the goodies you brought from Portobello market will be unpacked and the cooking begins. Once settled in with a glass of Prosecco, you will create a feast of Italian dishes that use a few well chosen ingredients, cooked with simplicity and brought to the table with gusto, all whilst enjoying a flow of wine and chit-chat around the kitchen island.
All in all you might be preparing up to 10 dishes, but don't worry, there's no need to try and remember everything or make notes, as electronic recipe cards are provided after the course.
